Meet Ayala

Ayala, a Clinical Social Work Intern at Core Relationships, is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work at Wurzweiler School of Social Work. She draws on a psychodynamic perspective to help clients gain insight into their patterns and process the emotions that come with them. Ayala’s background in education and clinical research has shaped her warm, curious, and evidence-based approach to therapy. She is especially interested in attachment and relational dynamics, and is passionate about supporting clients as they build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and cultivate stronger connections with others.

Ayala's Approach

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) is a therapeutic approach that helps people understand and process their emotions to create greater self-awareness and emotional resilience. The focus is on identifying patterns in how we experience and respond to feelings, so we can navigate challenges with clarity and balance. EFIT supports clients in connecting more deeply with themselves and building healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Parts work is a therapeutic approach that helps us recognize and understand the different “parts” of ourselves—thoughts, emotions, and impulses that may feel conflicting or stuck. By connecting with these parts,we can heal inner conflicts, gain self-understanding, and make more conscious choices. It supports building inner harmony, emotional resilience, and healthier relationships with ourselves and others.

Psychodynamic Therapy helps us understand the deeper patterns shaping our thoughts, feelings, and relationships. By exploring how past experiences and unconscious beliefs influence the present, this approach creates space to uncover what’s been hidden, heal unresolved wounds, and build healthier ways of relating—to ourselves and to others.

FAQ

How do I know which therapist is right for me?
You don’t have to figure that out alone. We take time to get a feel for who you are and what kind of connection will help you open up and grow. Matching people well is something we’re known for — and if it doesn’t feel right, we’ll talk about it and find the person who does.
That’s completely okay. The fit between you and your therapist matters more than anything else. If at any point you feel someone else on our team might be a better match, you can reach out to us support@corerelationships.com and our intake coordinator will reach out to initiate a smooth transition. Our goal is for you to get the care that feels right for you — even if that means working with another therapist here.
Therapy at Core isn’t about getting advice — it’s about getting to the heart of why things feel stuck, so the answers start to come from within you. We help you slow down, notice what’s really happening underneath, and make sense of it together.
At times, we’ll offer guidance or a new way of seeing something, but the goal isn’t to direct your life — it’s to help you trust your own voice and move through relationships with more clarity, confidence, and calm.

We’re not here to bandage the symptoms. We’re here to stop the bleeding—for good.
