EDMR Therapy for
Relationship Healing
When couples work reaches a standstill due to one partner’s unresolved trauma or emotional block, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can provide a path forward. Trauma, whether recent or complex, can disrupt the brain’s processing of distressing experiences, leaving certain memories, beliefs, and emotions “stuck” in time. These unprocessed “sore spots” often re-emerge in close relationships, sparking intense reactions such as anger, anxiety, feelings of rejection, or emotional shutdown.
