Therapy for Stress and Overwhelm
Chronic stress isn't a scheduling problem. If it were, a reorganized calendar would fix it. The people who reach out to us about stress are usually already doing everything 'right,' and still can't stop.
When stress is structural, not situational
There's a difference between being stressed by a difficult season and living in a baseline of overload that follows you from job to job, relationship to relationship, year to year. The second kind isn't about your circumstances. It's about the relationship you have with your own limits: what you believe happens if you slow down, what it would mean to need rest, who you'd be if you weren't always managing something.
What we work on
We look at what's underneath the driven, over-responsible, can't-say-no pattern. Usually there's something there about worth being conditional on output, learned early, reinforced often. We help you understand why stopping feels dangerous, and build enough of a different experience that it actually becomes possible.
Beyond coping strategies
We're not going to hand you a list of breathing exercises. Coping strategies have their place, and we'll use them where they're useful. But if you've already tried all of that and the stress keeps coming back, the work is at a deeper level. We go there.
