Emotionally Focused Therapy
EFT is the most well-researched couples therapy in the field. It's built on attachment science, the idea that we are wired for secure connection, and that most relationship distress is actually a protest against losing it.
How EFT works
Rather than teaching communication scripts, EFT helps couples see the cycle they keep getting stuck in, the dance underneath the fights, and slowly rebuild a felt sense of safety with each other. It's emotional, structured, and surprisingly direct.
Who it helps
EFT is especially powerful for couples who feel disconnected, who keep having the same fight, or who are recovering from a trust rupture. It's also adapted for individuals (EFIT) and families (EFFT).
Our training
Our couples-focused clinicians are trained in EFT through ICEEFT-affiliated programs and continue ongoing supervision in the model.
