Are you in-network with any insurance plans?

We are an out-of-network practice, by design. Being out-of-network lets us protect your privacy, keep sessions the length they need to be, and choose the treatment that fits you rather than what an insurer will authorize. If your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, our concierge billing team handles the reimbursement paperwork for you so the experience feels as close to in-network as possible.

How does the out-of-network reimbursement process actually work?

Before your first session, our billing team verifies your out-of-network mental health benefits and tells you in plain language what to expect: your deductible, your reimbursement rate, and any session limits. After each session we submit the claim to your insurer on your behalf, track it, and follow up if anything stalls. Reimbursement is paid directly to you on whatever timeline your insurer follows.

What does a session cost?

Session fees vary by therapist and by session length. Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes; couples sessions are 50 or 75 minutes depending on the work. We'll share the specific fee for your therapist during your free 15-minute consultation, before you commit to anything.

How much will I actually get reimbursed?

It depends entirely on your plan: your out-of-network deductible, your reimbursement rate, and any session caps all factor in. During the benefits check we walk you through your specific numbers so there are no surprises, and we'll tell you honestly whether your plan is generous, limited, or somewhere in between.

Do I pay you, or do you bill my insurance directly?

You pay us the full session fee at the time of service, and your insurer reimburses you directly. We never ask you to chase paperwork; the claim filing and follow-up are on us. If you'd prefer to submit claims yourself, we can also provide a monthly superbill instead.

What if my insurance denies a claim?

It happens, and we handle it. Our billing team reviews the denial, corrects anything that needs correcting, and resubmits or appeals on your behalf. You don't need to make phone calls, write letters, or learn what a CPT code is.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards. HSA and FSA cards are usually eligible for therapy as well, though final eligibility is set by your plan administrator. We keep a card securely on file and charge automatically after each session so billing never gets in the way of the work.

Do you offer sliding-scale or reduced-fee sessions?

Yes, a limited number of reduced-rate spots are available with our pre-licensed clinicians. We're committed to making relational therapy accessible, so if cost is a concern, ask during your consultation and we'll tell you what's open.

What's your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We ask for 24 hours' notice for cancellations and reschedules. Sessions cancelled with less notice or missed without notice are charged the full session fee, since that time was held for you and can't be filled. Life happens, of course; if something unavoidable comes up, talk to us.

Will my insurance company see what we talk about?

No. Insurers receive a diagnosis code and the dates and lengths of your sessions, which is what they need to process the claim. The content of your sessions stays between you and your therapist.
